Capire provides facilitation training for clients to prepare meeting outraged communities face to face

Engagement Training – ‘Dealing with Feelings’

Capire partners with experiential learning organisation Serious Woo to provide our clients with tailored training program to prepare them for facing outraged communities across metropolitan, rural and regional geographies.

Approach
Capire works with Serious Woo to develop targeted and tailored master classes using real life scenarios and professional actors. From half day to week long training programs, entitled ‘Dealing with Feelings’, our approach is designed to rapidly increase the facilitation skills and experience of public servants facing distressed community members concerned about new infrastructure projects across the State.

Given the complexity and controversy surrounding new infrastructure development, our training program is focused on de-escalation and conflict resolution. It provides participants with the opportunity to observe and learn how they personally react in stressful situations, building their self awareness and emotional intelligence. Our program allows participants to learn through direct experience and by reflecting on that experience.

Outcomes
By role-playing a variety of situations, participants learned how to channel high emotion and conflict into constructive participation. With its practical and creative approach, our training program successfully prepares your staff to have complex conversations with diverse community members about big changes happening in their back yard.
