Several Capire staff completed secondments at Barwon Waters, providing communications and engagement support for capital works projects.


Capital Works Support


Capire is Barwon Water’s trusted partner to provide inhouse communication and engagement services for business-as-usual capital works projects and nominated major projects.

In 2022 and 2023, several Capire staff worked part-time in long-term contracts for Barwon Water’s Communication and Engagement team. They supported Project Managers to plan and deliver internal and external communication and engagement for numerous capital works projects. This included:

  • drafting and delivering communication and engagement plans
  • responding to high-level enquiries
  • providing public communication prior to disruptive site investigations and works
  • advising Project Managers how communication and engagement can benefit their projects
  • assisting temporary construction leases
  • delivering communication and engagement for an Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act period of public comment.

Capire’s support helped Barwon Water maintain and improve its relationships with customers and stakeholders, at a time when internal changes were happening within the organisation.

Concurrently, Capire’s day-to-day on-the-ground experience improved our team’s understanding of and familiarity with the water industry, especially across a large regional service area.
