Session 2 – Local Leadership: The Role of Councils in Australia’s Energy Transition

Local governments are central to the renewable energy transition – balancing community aspirations, land-use planning, and economic opportunities. This session shares lessons from regional councils and explores how collaboration between local, state and industry partners can drive positive outcomes.

Session 6 – Engagement for Success: Putting Communities at the Centre
Thursday 19 February, 2pm–3pm AEDT
This interactive workshop brings participants together to co-design ideas and approaches for strengthening engagement in the renewable energy transition. Through small-group breakout discussions, attendees will share practical experiences, identify common challenges, and explore what effective community engagement looks like across different contexts.
