Case Study: Melbourne Airport Third Runway Master Plan

Melbourne Airport’s Third Runway Major Development Plan and 2022 Master Plan set out the long-term vision for this key airport. The project called for an extensive public engagement program to ensure the proposed changes and potential impacts – including noise, pollution, increased traffic, and health and wellbeing impacts – were well understood by stakeholders and surrounding communities.

Capire worked with Melbourne Airport to support the planning and approval process for the Third Runway. We were engaged to increase the airport’s internal capacity to deliver an engagement program that would reach all stakeholders. This wide-reaching program delivered exceptional engagement outcomes for one of Victoria’s most critical infrastructure projects.
