Blue Mackerel Offshore Wind Project

Capire is supporting the community and stakeholder engagement for the proposed Blue Mackerel Offshore Wind Project. Located within the Gippsland Renewable Energy Zone, Blue Mackerel is currently in the feasibility and design phase. At full capacity, it is planned to deliver up to 1 gigawatt of renewable energy into the Victorian Grid by 3032 – that’s enough to provide up to 750,000 homes with clean power.

Capire has been working with Blue Mackerel North on this project since mid-2024. Our services have included:

• developing a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy and supporting implantation plans, including benefits sharing plan
• providing graphic design services to develop the Blue Mackerel project brand and supporting collateral
• delivering engagement activities, both online and in person, with the local community and key stakeholders.

Capire has also provided support with stakeholder risk analysis, reporting on engagement for regulatory purposes, and development of the first approved Marine Survey Management Plan under the newly issued regulations from the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator.
