Capire facilitated the ‘Sharing Places Workshops’ to better understand the challenges and opportunities of the Child Information Sharing Scheme.

The Sharing Places Workshops

The Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) enables authorised organisations to share information to support child wellbeing and safety. The Department of Education (DE) engaged Capire to facilitate the ‘Sharing Places Workshops’ to better understand the challenges and opportunities of the scheme.

The workshops were held in Robinvale and Doveton and included authorised organisational leaders and practitioners from different sectors involved in child welfare.

Objectives
The objectives for attendees were to:

  • better understand the information held by different services that can be shared to support children’s wellbeing and participation in services
  • learn about information sharing and child wellbeing roles and responsibilities in a local context
  • connect with other local professionals
  • hear from professionals and subject matter experts on information sharing.

Approach
Capire worked closely with DE to lead the facilitation of the workshops. There were a range of strategies used, such as ice breakers, reflection cards and voting dots, to engage attendees and encourage conversations.

Outputs
The workshops were well received: attendees benefited from the information, discussions, and opportunities to network and make new connections. Capire created a Summary Report of the Workshops, which was presented to DE.

DE committed to providing further training and resources to continue to support implementation.
