Global Power Generation is progressing the Darlington Wind Farm in south west Victoria, a proposed 325 MW development of up to 45 turbines across more than 5,000 hectares. The project sits within an environmentally and culturally sensitive landscape, with wetlands and important brolga habitat requiring detailed assessment. In January 2023, the Minister for Planning determined that an Environment Effects Statement (EES) was required.
Capire supported the EES referral process and prepared the project’s Consultation Plan. This provided a framework to guide transparent, accessible engagement with communities, stakeholders and regulators during the assessment process.
Through this work, Capire helped position the project for meaningful input and early conversations with the local community, including activities such as the Mortlake Community Information Day. The result has been greater trust, clarity and accountability in how environmental and social considerations are addressed.
