The Victorian Department of Transport and Planning and manufacturer Alstom partnered with Capire to facilitate best-practice engagement on the design of the new X’Trapolis 2.0 trains and Next Generation Trams.

This extensive engagement process is a new industry standard for rolling stock and highlights the benefits of true co-design when creating contemporary trains and trams. The mock-up engagements gave a broad range of Victorians the chance to influence the design of the vehicles.

The modifications resulting from this project will improve passenger and driver experience on Melbourne’s new trains and trams.
