Capire was engaged by the Department of Housing and Human Services (DHHS) to design and deliver engagement processes to develop a shared vision for the Ascot Vale Estate. The creation of a Shared Vision for the Estate occurred across multiple phases. The first phase explored current life on the Estate and generated ideas for the future. Phase Two provided the community with an opportunity to give feedback on the draft principles developed through phase one. In the third phase, community members and stakeholders refined and finalised the principles and vision that guide the Estate masterplan.
Capire staff facilitated targeted engagement activities on the Estate to gather feedback from a variety of stakeholders including public housing tenants from CALD backgrounds, neighbours, council, and other community stakeholders. A consultative committee was also formed to codesign and co-create the shared vision for the Estate.
