Over the coming years, the former Fitzroy Gasworks site in will become a vibrant new neighbourhood. Featuring a 650-student high school, over 1,000 apartments, an innovative six-court sporting facility and high quality public open space, the development will set a new standard for healthy and connected community living. The project is being led by Development Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government, in partnership with Department of Treasury and Finance, Victorian School Building Authority, and Sport and Recreation Victoria.
Capire designed an innovative partnership framework and engagement strategy for the project, establishing both a governance structure and multi-tiered implementation plan for the life of the project. Successfully endorsed by all project partners, the framework provides both a roadmap and protocols for how partners work together and how they engage with local communities and stakeholders.
As part of this work, Capire also designed a detailed engagement implementation plan, which sets a new standard for integrated community engagement across multi-partner projects and diverse built form. Capire is currently working with project partners to deliver engagement for the project, focusing on site masterplanning and statutory development approval.
