Social Justice Charter

GOTAFE is the largest regional TAFE in Victoria, delivering over 4.3 million student contact hours to over 14,000 students in 2017. GOTAFE’s vision is ‘a thriving organisation known for inspiring, motivating and equipping people for success’. GOTAFE’s people, practices and processes commit to the following values: Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

GOTAFE engaged Capire to assist in developing a Social Justice Charter to help deliver on these values by ensuring the rights of all people are considered equal in all GOTAFE operations. A series of community engagement activities were undertaken as part of the Social Justice Charter development. Activities were designed to involve a mix of GOTAFE staff, students, and Board; future students, community leaders, community groups, community organisations and general public; and diversity, access, and inclusion professionals.

The GOTAFE Social Justice Framework imbeds the universal principles of equity, fairness, and respect into all aspects of GOTAFE’s operations, systems, and infrastructure.
